Access to Information Requests and Privacy Complaints

Consists of records relating to access to information requests made under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and complaints regarding privacy breaches. Records may include access request forms, acknowledgement letters, third party notices, fee estimates, access recommendations, record search worksheets, research agreements, notice and confirmation of appeal and written representations.

Retention based on anticipated operational use.

Filing Guidelines

Tracking data in the electronic request management system will be retained permanently. All information pertaining to informal access requests is retained for one calendar year in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 460, s. 5 (1).
